Chocolate bark is so easy to make yet looks impressive so I love to make it when I’m short on time but need to bring something delicious to a get together. I have done all sorts of normal ones such as candy canes for Christmas, dried fruit and nuts but I wanted to make something unique! My inspiration for my Hunka Burin Love Bark came from an ice cream shop that I use to live above in college. They had an ice cream flavor there called the Fat Elvis. It was banana ice cream with fudge and peanut butter ripples in that. I thought those flavors would pair well with the American Heritage chocolate which has undertones of cinnamon, nutmeg and a touch of spice. I tried just the peanut butter chips and crushed up banana chips on the American Heritage Chocolate the first time and something was missing. So I went to the pantry and found graham crackers and crushed those up and tossed them on my next batch and then thought a drizzle of honey would finish it off and yes…. PERFECTION!
- 12 oz of American Heritage Chocolate Blocks
- ½ cup of Banana Chips crushed
- ½ cup of Peanut Butter chips
- ½ cup of Graham crackers crushed
- Honey to drizzle
Begin by melting the chocolate in a double boiler. To do this get a pot of water boiling, place a glass bowl on top and place the chocolate in the bowl. Set the heat to low to not burn the chocolate and stir often. While the chocolate is melting line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Once the chocolate is all melted pour onto the prepared cookie sheet and spread to about 1/8 inch thickness. Add all of your toppings, as much or as little as you like, then lightly tap them down into the chocolate. Finish by drizzling honey all over the top and then place into fridge for at least one hour. Take out and break into the desired sized pieces.
