I’ve decided to start a new section where I will feature some of my favorite beauty products straight out of my make-up bag or show you some easy beauty how-to’s.
To start this off right, I had to review the foundation product I am currently obsessing over for summer, Naked Skin by Urban Decay. This little miracle-in-a-bottle has been the saving grace for my skin, which is usually a complete hot mess in the summer. From long plane rides to hours in the sun to a different climate every weekend, my skin really takes a beating. This foundation, however, has not only helped improve the appearance of my skin by covering up flaws, it also is packed full of nourishing ingredients. The more I wear it, the better my skin is looking when I take it off! What I really like about this foundation is, as the name implies, it feels like you have nothing on at all. On hot muggy days, feeling like you have make-up caked on your face is the worst. This great foundation, although lightweight, truly gives you an airbrushed look by blurring fine lines and pores while also covering break-outs. I also like that the finish is demi-matte so I have some glow but don’t look oily.
Although this is embarrassing, I took a picture of my lovely broken out side of my face so you could get a true “before”. In the photo, I have absolutely no makeup on and, as you can see, I have some sun spots, break-outs and enlarged pores. In the second photo, this is what my skin looks like with just one light layer of Naked Skin applied over Smashbox Primer, which you can find out more about in my previous blog . As you can see, it really helps to cover everything up and this is with one light layer, which I applied with my finger tips and then buffed with a foundation brush. This is without powder or contouring makeup on top so, as you can see, this product really does a great job of hiding imperfections and it doesn’t look cakey either.
I hope this honest review helps and if you have any questions of comments, please let me know!
